Pratap Rao (Pawan Kalyan) is a software engineer who has just won a software awards show. One day, he meets his first love Pooja (Bhumika Chawla), who was presumed dead in a car accident. Pooja tells him of a secret land she was investigating as part of her thesis. Pratap feels that his past will catch up with him sooner or later. The film's plot is influenced by the 2001 science-fiction film The Butterfly Effect, in which the main character finds out about a major event from which a butterfly's wing fluttered, a year before, and it wreaks all sorts of havoc in his life. In Kushi, the same thing happens to Pratap when he finds out about his girlfriend's death, and in the next year he reunites with her.
